本课研究天然茶树油作为原料的消毒剂，其能在短时间内有效破坏细胞组织，达到抑杀细菌的效果。茶树油不溶于水很难用水做为稀释剂，通过加入一定的量的表面活性剂（吐温—80、二甲基亚砜）来增强茶树油的溶解效果，乙醇可以使茶树油的杀菌效果增强。通过预试验和正交试验，筛选出能短时间破坏细胞组织的消毒剂最佳配方以70%乙醇、0.01%吐温-80配制而成的浓度为1%的茶树油消毒剂。并达消毒合格的要求，且具有安全、无刺激性、无腐蚀、绿色环保等优点，有利于皮肤、伤口及医药行业等方面的消毒。
以4.0％的吐温－80为中和剂，测定茶树油消毒剂对细菌（大肠杆菌、金色葡萄球菌）的杀菌活性。通过试验表明茶树油消毒剂具有很好的抑杀效果。大肠杆菌，消毒剂浓度为1.0%，0.5%，0.25%，作用1，3，5，10min均可达到100%，消毒剂浓度为0.125%作用1，3，5，10min均可达到99.99%。金色葡萄球菌，毒剂浓度为1.0%，0.5%，作用1，3，5，10min均可达到100%，消毒剂浓度为0.25%作用1，3，5，10min均可达到99.99%。
