近年来，随着我国城市化的不断加快，城市发展与建设用地迅速扩展，大量的城郊农用地转为建设用地使用，加剧了我国的人地矛盾。开展城市化进程中耕地保护的研究，实现耕地总量动态平衡，给我国的粮食安全提供有力的保障。本文以武汉市为例，运用比较分析法、定性和定量分析相结合的研究方法，对近年耕地面积的数据进行了时间变化和空间变化的分析，得出耕地非农化流转的特征，并剖析了该市耕地非农化流转的动力因素，进而提出充分利用城市存量土地，集约和节约利用城市土地，严格保护耕地的具体措施。对解决我国“吃饭”与“建设”，“城市发展”与“耕地保护”之间的矛盾具有现实意义。
