  A Day as a Tourist Guide

   My name is Chen Hui.Last week I became a tourist guide for a day.My parents'friends Mr and Mrs Moore arrived for a short holiday from Australia.It was their first visit to this part of the world.As my parents had to attend a cousin's wedding,they asked me to take the two friends around Beijing.

   Early in the morning I took them to Tian'anmen Square.They found it was very large and said it was the largest square they had seen.Later in the morning we stopped at Beihai Park.I showed them round the park and told them its history.They were very interested.The sun was hot at the moment and we soon felt very dry.I took them to a teahouse and asked them to try some Chinese green tea.They were glad.

   For lunch we went to have roast Beijing duck at a big restaurant.They liked it very much and said Chinese food was very delicious.In the afternoon we paid a short visit to the Museum of Chinese History.Mr and Mrs Moore said they would like to learn more about China and its history.They bought some books on China to take back with them.Then I took them to do some shopping because they wanted to buy some presents for their friends in Australia.After that our two friends went back to their hotel to rest.

   By the time I got home,I was very tired.That evening my parents took the Moores to a wedding dinner.They told my parents what a good tourist guide I had been.
